Dates: March 27 – 30, 2012
Location: Southern California (Los Angeles area)
Purpose: This tour is designed not just to introduce high school students (sophomores & juniors) to the terrific colleges of Southern California, but to expose them to a variety of college options, including a traditional small liberal arts college, a consortium of connected colleges, a large public university, large private university, a women’s college, and a medium-sized catholic university.
Your Guides: Eric Delehoy and Linda Chin, of Delehoy College Counseling will be the main chaperones of the trip, accompanied by a local high school counselor. They combine many years of experience working with students and chaperoning overnight and weeklong trips. The counselors will also facilitate group discussions following each day’s visits to further the learning process.
Tour Cost: $899. This includes round trip airfare originating in Portland, three nights of shared hotel (4 students/room), visits to seven colleges, all local transportation, a pass to Disneyland, some meals, and comprehensive college visit notebooks.
Accommodations: Three nights at the Aloft Ontario-Rancho Cucamonga, breakfast included.
Registration: Students must register by November 21, 2011 and include a $350 non-refundable deposit for airfare. If a student is unable to go on the trip following this date, he/she can recover the $350 if a replacement is found. Final payment is due February 15, 2011.
